Aquicore Launches New Self-installing IoT Hardware For Its Smart Asset Operations Platform For Commercial Real Estate

WASHINGTON, JULY 18, 2018 -- Aquicore today announced the launch of its new self-installing Internet of Things (IoT) hardware. The patented devices make it quicker and easier for executives, managers and building teams to complete Aquicore’s installation process, saving companies time, money and resources.

Aquicore, the leading IoT-driven asset operations platform for commercial real estate (CRE), today announced the launch of its new self-installing Internet of Things (IoT) hardware. The patented devices – the Aquicore Hub and the Aquicore Bridge – make it quicker and easier for executives, managers and building teams to complete Aquicore’s installation process, saving companies time, money and resources.

Aquicore devices compile real-time data from utility meters, submeters and building equipment. The platform then uses that data to track, analyze and predict key performance metrics like energy and water use, air quality, budgets and more. These high-resolution views into building processes enable asset and property managers to make faster and more informed decisions that ultimately reduce operating costs, increase energy efficiency and improve asset value.

The heart of Aquicore’s hardware is the Aquicore Hub, which serves as a central unit and internet gateway for securely uploading building data to the cloud. The Aquicore Bridge extends the Hub’s range by connecting virtually any building meter, equipment or sensor via a mesh network that can be easily extended to cover an entire building. Both devices, which use encrypted 4G communications to keep customer data safe, are designed to guide on-site staff through a 30-minute installation and commissioning process, eliminating the need to hire outside contractors. Aquicore’s self-installable IoT devices enable buildings to be up and running within days instead of months.

“Hardware connectivity is quickly becoming an important differentiator for players in the asset management space,” said Roy Illingworth, vice president of operations at Aquicore. “The latest updates to our hardware allows Aquicore to rapidly deploy its devices, at a lower price point, with more advanced security than our competitors. As leaders in the industry, we are continuously innovating to develop cutting edge technology for our customers.”

With more than 1,000 installations nationwide, Aquicore services over 600 commercial buildings owned or managed by 80 institutional clients. Most recently, Boston Properties, one of the largest owners, managers and developers of office properties in the U.S., used Aquicore’s self-install process to bring the John Hancock Tower in Boston online. Within two days of signing the contract, the building’s 60 floors and two million square feet of commercial space were up and running on the Aquicore platform collecting real-time data. Similarly, Normandy Real Estate Partners, a leading privately-owned real estate operator and investment manager, installed Aquicore’s IoT hardware in 19 buildings in only five days.
